Compare
Plyfolio with Lichess and Chess.com.
Lichess and Chess.com are where you play online. Plyfolio keeps your games over the board, and your online ones too if you like.
Fair, factual and dated: 4 November 2026.
What each is for.
Lichess and Chess.com are excellent places to play, watch and study online. Lichess is free and open source; Chess.com has a free plan and paid memberships. Plyfolio does not compete with either: it is a book for the chess you play across a real table.
Bringing online games in.
Both sites let you download your games as PGN. Import the file and your online games sit in their own folder, apart from club games, players matched only when you agree.
Ratings from both.
Keep your Lichess and Chess.com ratings as tracks beside ECF and FIDE. They are different scales, so Plyfolio never adds them together.
Reviewing: theirs and ours.
Lichess offers free computer analysis that runs in your browser, and Chess.com's game review explains moves in its own way, with daily limits on free plans. Plyfolio's review runs on your phone with no signal and no limit, and is there for the games you played over the board.
Written 4 November 2026 from Lichess and Chess.com's own pages; their features and plans change. Plyfolio is not connected with either. Lichess and Chess.com are named only to explain how they fit together. General information, not advice.
