Roadmap

What is next, honestly.

What we are working on, without dates. Each arrives in a free update once it works well on real phones.

a

Working on now

Being built and tested on real phones.

Scoresheet photosRead a game from a photo of a paper scoresheet. Every move it is unsure of is shown for you to check against the photo.
Larger screensA layout for iPad and Android tablets: the game and the board as an open book.

b

Next

Designed, waiting their turn.

Games by usernameBring in your public Lichess and Chess.com games when you ask, into their own folder.
ECF rating lookupFill in an ECF rating from the ECF's public rating service, asked for each time.

c

Later

Ideas we want to get right first.

Recording by videoA phone on a stand follows the game and writes the moves, asking whenever a move was hidden. Notation only, as ever.
Written explanationsKey moments explained in words, grounded only in what Stockfish found, never invented.

d

Never

Promises, not plans.

AdvertsNot in the app, not on this site.
An account or a subscriptionOne payment, nothing to sign up for.
A board or engine while recordingThe recording screen stays notation only.
Selling your dataWe do not have it, and that is on purpose.

Why no dates.

Reading handwriting from a photo is hard, and a feature that is wrong one move in twenty makes more work, not less. We would rather ship late and right than early and wrong.

When something is ready, it appears in What's new and in Plyfolio news, and this page moves it along. If something here changes, we say so.
