Turning sync on
Open Settings, Sync and backup, and choose Google Drive or iCloud. You sign in with that provider, not with us. Your library is copied to your own account, which only you can open.
Restoring a backup
Backups are full copies, separate from sync. In Sync and backup, choose Backups and tap one to see what is in it, then Restore. Restoring replaces the library on this phone, so Plyfolio makes a backup of it first.
Changed on two phones
If one game was edited on two devices before they synced, Plyfolio names both and lets you keep one or keep both as separate games. Nothing is overwritten without your choice.
Moving to a new phone
- Make sure sync was on, or take a backup.On the old phone, Settings, Sync and backup, Back up now.
- Install Plyfolio on the new phone.Buy it on that phone's store if it is a different kind of phone.
- Choose the same provider.Plyfolio finds your library and offers to bring it in.
iPhone to Android
iCloud is not available on Android. Before you switch, change sync to Google Drive on the iPhone, or export everything as one PGN file and import it on the new phone. Ratings and players come across with sync; a PGN export carries the games, players' names and notes.
