Tools your assistant can use.

Some AI assistants can use the tools on these pages for you. Here is what they can and cannot do.

What an assistant can do here

  • Open a game for youGive it a game and it opens it in the PGN viewer, with the players, the result and the number of moves.
  • Check a gameIt runs the PGN checker and tells you what is wrong, on which line and move.
  • Find a positionAsk for the position after a move, for example after white's 17th, and it shows you the board.
  • Draw a boardIt makes a board picture of any position, to download or use in a document.
  • Fill in a scoresheetIt fills in the event and the players, and you print the sheet yourself.

What it cannot do

  • See your Plyfolio library or anything on your phone. The app has no account and keeps your games on your phone.
  • Keep your games. Nothing you or your assistant give these tools is stored or sent anywhere.
  • Print, share or send anything for you. It shows you the result; you decide what happens next.
  • Tell you the best move. These tools read and draw games; they do not analyse them.

Things to ask

  • Check this PGN before I import it.
  • Show me the position after move 17 in this game.
  • Make a board picture of this position with black at the bottom.
  • Fill in a scoresheet for round 3 of the Northside league, Anna Reed against Sam Patel.

Only some assistants and browsers can use website tools so far. Every tool here also works by hand, on its own page.

Nothing is stored or sent. The tools run in your browser, whoever is using them, and you check anything before it's shared or printed.

How to use it

    Open a tool page in a browser with an assistant that can use website tools.

    Ask it, for example: check this PGN, or show me the position after move 17.

    It uses the tool on the page and shows you the answer. You check anything before it is shared or printed.

In the app

No AI while you record
