Features
Sync and backup.
Your games live on your phone. A copy goes to your own Google Drive or iCloud, if you want one.
On this phone
Everything.
- Every game, player, place and rating
- Notes, side lines and bookmarks
- Photos and videos you attach
- Arasan and its reviews
In your cloud, when you turn it on
A copy.
- A copy of your library, as plain PGN and a small index
- Backups you can restore, weekly by default
- Kept in your own account, which only you can open
Plyfolio's own servers There are none.
Two phones, one book.
Edit a game on your phone and your iPad. Plyfolio names both and lets you keep one, or both.
Nothing is overwritten without a choice.
Backups you can restore.
Full copies, separate from sync. Weekly, keeping the last eight, or whenever you tap Back up now.
Restoring shows what is in a backup first: games, players and places, and the day it was made.
A new phone in three steps.
- 1Install Plyfolio on the new phone.
Buy once on each store: a purchase on the App Store and one on Google Play are separate.
- 2Open Settings, then Sync and backup.
Choose the same Google Drive or iCloud account as before.
- 3A library was found.
Bring it in. Every game, player and rating arrives, with nothing to type.
Sync,
in detail.
- First
- Everything saves on your phone. Sync is off until you choose it.
- Where
- Google Drive on either phone, or iCloud on iPhone. One at a time.
- Who sees it
- You. Plyfolio has no server and no account, so there is nowhere else for it to go.
- Two phones
- A game changed on both is never overwritten. You choose one, or keep both.
- Backups
- Full copies, separate from sync. Weekly by default, keeping the last eight.
- Leaving
- Export every game as one PGN file at any time. It opens in any chess program.
- Photos
- Attached photos and videos can stay on the phone to save space in your cloud.
